Downie Timber is an independent mill located central to a long-term supply of old growth fine grain logs. Eighteen million dollars has been invested upgrading the mill and planing facility. Investments have focused on increasing our ability to cut quality products for the Japanese and international market. Products: Cedar Full Sawn 2 x 6 / 8 2 Clr. 4 Clr. Shop Spruce & Douglas Fir 105 x 105 Grn & K.D. (Large Logs) 45 x 105 30 x 105 Hemlock 90 x 90 (Large Logs) 45 x 90 30 x 90 60% of log supply comes from long term crown tenure arrangements. 40% is purchased on the open market. The majority of volume comes from the interior wet belt, an area that grows fine grain older growth timber.
