Howard Steel was founded as a small three person steel fabricator by Kenneth Howard Westlund, Jr. in 1976. Mr. Westlund has grown the company to approximately 30 employees over 35 years. In 2004, the second generation of family entered the business to help sustain the continued excellence of quality and trust established by Mr. Westlund. In 2011, family member Nicholas Gibbons became the new President to lead the Company forward for the next generation. Howard Structural Steel is proud to be a family business and is a member of Saginaw Valley State University's Center for Steven's Family Business program. Howard Steel serves the entire state of Michigan and specializes in structural steel, steel joist and deck, steel erection, steel rolling and conveyor fabrications. We also work with other miscellaneous metals. Howard steel services all construction sectors, from public works programs and schools to feature staircases and handrail.
