In September of 2008, this little church of about 100 people decided that rather than acting like our lives were perfect and that we had it all figured out, we were going to begin to be honest about the mistakes, worries, confusion, brokenness, hurt, pain, guilt, shame, and mess that existed in all of our lives and stories. We committed to be a place where it was always going to be okay to not be okay. After talking with our friends and allies up at Flatirons Community Church, we adopted their phrase that has become much more popular in recent years: "me too. In short, for us, "me too" simply meant, "oh, you've got a jacked up story? Me too. In the fall of 2008 we became a place where people are always safe, regardless of how their story reads or what they believe. That continues to this very day. We will always be a safe place for all people.
