Founded in Tyler, Texas in the early 1940 by Mr. William H. Bowden, Bowden Construction Company has served the Natural Gas Industry for over 50 years. The first completed contract dates back to December 4, 1942, between Mr. Bowden and the West Texas Gas Company for the installation of two Type 10 Twin Bessemer Compressor Units. Today, Bowden Construction is regularly involved in the installation of many different types of compressor unit as well as having expanded to meet the needs of a 21st century gas industry. As the company grew, Mr. Bowden's son, Billy Bowden, and a young chemical engineer named Otis Hunter bought the company. In 1953, Otis Hunter bought Bowden Construction and incorporated the company. Mr. Otis Hunter ran Bowden Construction until in 1994, Mr. Hunter's sons bought the company and became the present owners. In 2001, Bowden Construction Company Inc. was coverted into a limit partnership.
