We at the Priory Hotel and Grand Hall recognize that love comes in many forms, and for nearly 30 years we have been delighted to host clients and guests of all races, religions, backgrounds and sexual orientations make their special events truly special. With the United States Supreme Court's recent ruling making same sex marriage legal nationwide, the Priory is excited to work with and celebrate the nuptials of same sex couples. However, we also recognize that it is extremely important to be sensitive to and aware of the fact that some of the traditions, customs and rituals of opposite sex wedding ceremonies and receptions may not be appropriate for same sex couples. At the Priory Hotel and Grand Hall, we don't pretend to have every answer. What we do guarantee is that we have educated ourselves on how to ask the right questions - questions our clients or their families may not have thought of themselves. Our Senior Catering Manager, Sara-Lynn Hunter has completed the Gay Wedding Institute's 14 Stories Certification Course, and our staff has engaged in extensive research into how to plan care-free and memorable weddings for our same sex clients. Our first same sex wedding clients, Jim Kilar and Greg Havrilla, were thrilled with the service they received from our Priory special events team, and were pleased with every aspect of their special day - from their initial tour, to planning the wedding and reception, to the ceremony and celebration themselves, to the food and the service for them and their guests.
