Kenn Borek founded the company in 1955 and was a pioneer in the oilfield construction industry managing the company until his passing in 2002. Kenn Borek Air Ltd. was initially incorporated as a subsidiary of Borek Construction Ltd. to enhance services on contracts carried out in the Canadian Arctic for the petroleum industry. The first DHC-6 Twin Otter began operating in 1970 providing air support for these exploration activities. While Kenn Borek Air began as specialists in Arctic travel, they now offer worldwide support to all seven continents.
