DR/VFI was created in 1988 and grew from the needs of organizations to identify and recover critical data. In 1995, 21st Century Software began marketing DR/VFI as part of a suite of storage management and disaster recovery tools. With the latest reorganization, 21st Century Software has further strengthened its market position by acquiring the VFI product while maintaining all the technical and development personnel.
